Coming out of Retirement
I, Major, United States Army (retired), John W. Davis, completed 20 years of service in Business Continuity, Disaster Planning, and Recovery. I earned the position of commanding officer for emergency relocation centers for the President of the United States, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and all Presidential successors. I developed policy and procedures, and detailed security that would immediately sustain the personnel and safety of senior government leaders. My responsibilities included direct supervision of the National Emergency Broadcast System and the initiation of a complete overhaul of the EBS in to the current Emergency Alert System in 1994. All while maintaining the secrecy and covert nature of the Continuity of Government programs. I completed high levels of government, military, and commercial training courses. I was hired to secure and develop the Business Continuity Plan for Coldwater Creek with their Executive Board in the development, construction, completion, of 3 national networked data/call centers to ensure customer support regardless of any regional disaster. I enjoy serving my community by providing disaster preparedness consulting and free public training in southern California. My public service goal has been to ensure private citizens have been educated and trained to be prepared to sustain themselves in the first 3-5 days of a disaster. I am including links to videos, award ceremonies, retirement from the Army and the White House, and the City of Santa Ana for public service presentations to its residents. My proficiency, expertise, and leadership can be utilized once again, I am seeking to come out of semi retirement and engage my talent once again in light of the recent disasters around the world. I am available for full time employment or long-term / short-term contractual assignments immediately.
